OUI Inc. receives Smart Eye Camera trademark and patent in various African countries.
OUI Inc. (OUI Inc.), a Keio University medical school startup company, is pleased to announce that it has received an international trademark in the Republic of Kenya and an int’l patent in the Republic of Malawi for the “Smart Eye Camera” developed by the company.
OUI Inc.’s Smart Eye Camera (SEC), a smart phone attachment type medical device, is currently registered as a medical device in the Republic of Kenya and is being used at various hospitals including Kisii Eye Hospital and Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital. The SEC is used in various hospitals, including Kisii Eye Hospital and Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, to diagnose ophthalmic diseases.
The acquisition of SEC’s international trademark will provide quality assurance and business credibility protection for SEC, and further development of SEC in the Republic of Kenya!
Currently in Malawi, SEC is collaborating with our partner Prof. Khumbo Kalua’s Blantyre Institute for Community Outreach. The international patent for the SEC will strengthen the SEC’s technological advantage and increase its international credibility for further development in the Republic of Malawi!
