SEC has been registered as medical device in Kenya

OUI Inc. is pleased to announce that our Smart Eye Camera (SEC)has been registered as medical device by the Ministry of Health in Kenya!!

In Kenya, we started a pilot with Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital from March 2021, as a pilot project for TechEmerge Health East Africa sponsored by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). In addition to the project with Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, currently we are collaborating with more than five local eye clinics and medical institutions.

SEC was registered as a medical device in Japan in June 2019 and in the European market in June 2021 to comply with CE marking. This registration in Kenya will be the second overseas medical device registration for SEC.

With this medical device registration as an opportunity, we will strengthen our cooperation with ophthalmologists and medical institutions in Kenya and strive to solve the problems of ophthalmology in the country!!
