Signed MOU for Joint Study with Hasanuddin University Faculty of Medicine, Indonesia
OUI Inc. is pleased to announce that we signed MOU for joint study with Hasanuddin University Faculty of Medicine (FK-UNHAS), a national university medical school located in Makassar, city of South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
This study is to compare and verify the diagnosis by SEC with the diagnosis by existing medical equipment at the clinical site of ophthalmology in FK-UNHAS. If the usefulness of the SEC is confirmed through this verification, more full-scale collaboration might be explored, including the use of the SEC for telemedicine in remote islands or other marginalized areas suffering from access to eyecare.
Indonesia is an island country where there exists difficulty to access to eye care. According to the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), there are approximately 3.7 million blind people and 35 million visually impaired people in Indonesia.
OUI Inc. will continue to work with a variety of domestic and international partners to promote SEC both domestically and internationally with the goal of overcoming global blindness by 50% by 2025!
