Smart Eye Camera on CE Marking

OUI Inc. is pleased to announce that our Smart Eye Camera (SEC), an attachment-type medical device to the iPhone to enable ophthalmic examinations, has been registered as a medical device in the European Union (EU) and is eligible for CE marking.

Through the SEC, OUI Inc. is working with the vision of overcoming blindness in the world by 50% by 2025 by delivering appropriate diagnosis to patients who have not been able to receive eyecare.
So far we have conducted various pilot projects in more than 10 countries around the world, including Asia and Africa, in cooperation with local ophthalmologists, NGOs, medical institutions, and international organizations.

SEC has already been registered as a medical device in Japan and is being used for remote doctor-to-doctor consultations on remote islands where ophthalmologists are not stationed and for home visits to patients who cannot visit medical institutions.

The internationally recognized CE marking is expected to further increase the recognition and confidence in SEC not only in the European market but also in Asia and Africa.

OUI Inc. will continue to work with partners all over the world to deliver eye diagnosis with SEC with the aim of overcoming global blindness by 50% by 2025!!
